Modern Warfare II / Modern Warfare 2 releasing later this year has a lot of people hopeful for the future of Call of Duty, but perhaps the uncertainty in the future is even more crazy than we thought. Recently it was reported that Modern Warfare II / Modern Warfare 2 would be getting 2 years of main developmental support to allow for Treyarch to work on their now COD 2024 title, but with a gap year, there’s so many questions brought up. However, what complicates things further perhaps is the new report from industry insider Tom Henderson, who reports that Sledgehammer Games is already in pre-production of their next game coming in 2025, seemingly pointing towards after this gap here in 2023 things may be right back to where we are now with a yearly release of a Call of Duty game. So that said… With that in mind, COD after Modern Warfare 2 just got even more confusing when we consider what’s on deck for COD 2024, 2025 and perhaps even 2026 if we really want to get to discussing the further points of the future.
