But what do you do when an iPhone gets stuck on “Update Requested” or “Preparing Update”? That’s the problem we’re going to show you how to fix in this video!

The first thing to do when your iPhone update is stuck is to check your internet connection. Your iPhone needs an internet connection to successfully request and download updates from Apple’s servers.
If your iPhone is connected to the internet, try restarting your iPhone. This may fix a minor software problem. If the update is stuck because your iPhone is completely frozen, hard reset it instead.
If your iPhone is stuck on Preparing Update, try deleting the update in iPhone Storage and downloading it again. There may be an issue with the iOS download that could be resolved if you download it like new.
Your iPhone update may be stuck because of an issue with Apple’s servers. Make sure their systems are all up and running by visiting www.apple.com/support/systemstatus
You can also try downloading the update using your computer instead of your iPhone. If you have a Mac running macOS 10.15 or newer, use Finder. If you have a PC or a Mac running macOS 10.14 or older, use iTunes.
