The current state of the iPad is an awfully confusing one. Stage Manager still isn’t quite right, the App selection is still quite limited, and the amazing hardware within devices like the iPad Air and iPad Pro is arguably underutilized. In short, the iPad, even as a concept has turned into this not-quite-a-laptop-or-phone mess, leaving consumers to opt for more attractive offerings like the iPhone 14 Pro Max and MacBook Air/Pro.
But looking back in time, there was once a clear path or purpose for the iPad. The 1st gen model was released to demolish the netbook industry of the early 2010s. Even though it seems crude now, this device completely changed and defined the industry. 13 years later, I’d argue only one “new” iPad lives up to it’s greatest-common-ancestors original purpose. iPad mini 6th generation is an excellent tablet and device, giving you a proper iPad experience without breaking the bank, taking up too much space nor trying to be something it’s clearly not.
