In today’s show we’re covering your questions about the event and all things Apple, but first can we just celebrate that RenderBoi Apple Tomorrow is back in action and appreciate these MacBook Pro renders he’s made ahead of next Monday’s event. Now while we take a look at these, consider one thing. We’ve not heard anything about one of the most controversial and striking parts of Apple’s last Mac redesign. Colours. We’ve heard about the shape we’ll get with the M1X MacBook Pros, thicker, blockier with sharper edges. But given Apple’s insane colour strategy, if you can call it that with no two ranges having the same colour options, what will we get with M1X MacBook Pro. Perhaps neon green, yellow and pink, those highlighter shades that everyone loves. But in all seriousness, what are we likely to see? iPhone Pro type colours? Stainless steel or polished edges? Titanium replacing aluminium for the chassis? Could we even see… WHITE BEZELS?
It seems like we’ve all assumed that the white bezels we saw on iMac are for the consumer lines, like the MacBook Air and iMacs going forward, but there’s no real evidence that Apple will do that, maybe white bezels on Macs just means “we’ve redesigned it”. Maybe Apple is trying to get away from the black everything look that the PC market seems to love, and that lighter design aesthetic shows more optimism. Having now seen a bunch of new iMacs in the flesh, I’m a big fan. So maybe. Also, if you’re interested in the chances of an M1X iMac very soon, check yesterday’s video.

Quick question – What do you think of a “One more thing…” a new hybrid apple tv/gaming console at next week’s event? Possibly with some derivation of an M1 chip? Motion sensors – aka the xbox Kinect company that apple bought?

#icaveanswers what’s your thoughts on a dual SoC in the 16”? The bigger chassis should enable no thermal issue and apple are already developing the tech, it would enable a 64gb of ram with less variants of chips.

#iCaveAnswers I have considered Mac Mini / other desktop options in the past but one personal struggle vs my current MacBook Pro is the location of the trackpad.
I’ve seen in your setup that you have your trackpad at the right hand side of your keyboard so you need to lift your hand to use it, while in a laptop you can use your thumbs without lifting your hands. Obvious solution is to place the trackpad just below the space bar but it wouldn’t work well because of the step angle. I even have considered making an encasing in the table to fit the trackpad but I don’t like the idea of not been able to move around freely.
Do you know if there is any combination of keyboard & trackpad with a similar layout to a MacBook or alternatively an easy way of using a MacBook pro as keyboard and trackpad input? I can’t understand how the mobile solution can have better ergonomics than the desktop one!

#icaveanswers Let’s keep talking Mac Mini- how about display options? Not all displays play equally well with Macs- e.g., some don’t power up when needed. Are there better displays for specifically Macs? I’m looking at BenQs as a possibility. Also, 4K or 2? Does type size/readability really suffer on a 27″ 4K vs a 2K?
