Rise of the Ronin is almost here and we’ve played it. New PS5 Rise of the Ronin gameplay awaits you, as Rob explains the incredible combat, world and characters of Team Ninja’s lethal open world Ronin adventure. Rise of the Ronin releases exclusively on PS5 on 22nd March.
This Rise of the Ronin PS5 gameplay – in shiny 4K – shows off the brutal sword combat, which plays like a mix of Ghost of Tsushima, Nioh and Sekiro – a system that rewards aggression as you break your enemies Ki with countersparks, before silencing them with a glorious finisher. But into that it mixes gunplay, stealth, a grappling hook and a second warrior – yes, we’ve not tried Rise of the Ronin coop, but we have tried the solo version as you jump between two swordsmen to bring down deadly bosses.
You’ll also see open world exploration on horseback and using your glider, giving you amazing control over both the ground and the rooftops.
This isn’t a Rise of the Ronin review – we spent just over three hours with this Rise of the Ronin demo, playing the opening stretch of the game.
