February:
February 2nd – Discord support added to PS5, VRR, one of the best PS5 updates ever
February 10 – Hogwarts Legacy
February 22 – PSVR2. I did a video on it and I was really impressed. Games like GT7 and RE Village were awesome and I also ended up playing games like Pavlov and I’m excited to give RE4 remake a shot soon.

March 24 – RE4 Remake

PS+ Extra adds Ratchet and Clank Rift Apart
May 17 – Sony announces their infamous showcas
May 24 – Showcase happens. Project Q aka the PlayStation Portal is revealed. Metal Gear Solid Delta Snake Eater, Marathon, Spider-Man 2 gameplay and that was really it. There was a ton of smaller stuff and they also talked about Helldivers 2 and Concord but people were largely disappointed and rumors started immediately about a second showcase which never happened. Alan Wake 2 got its first release date of October 17th though which was cool.
May 30th – For some reason they announced Rift Apart’s PC port with a release date of July 26th
June:
June 11th – Final Fantasy 16 demo.
June 22 – Final Fantasy 16 releases. This was the first really huge release for Sony of the year and it was solid
July:
July 4th – PS5 Slim Leaks officially during the FTC vs Microsoft Trial “PlayStation likewise sells a less expensive Digital Edition for $399.99, and is expected to release a PlayStation 5 Slim later this year at the same reduced price point,”
July 12th – Access Controller release date of December 6th revealed
July 17th – Microsoft agreed to keep Call of Duty on PlayStation
July 25th – Sea of Stars announced for PS+ Extra
July 31 – PS5 Beta software that added accessibility features which was cool but the real big feature was Dolby Atmos audio support. They also added the ability to search for games in your library and added support for 4TB SSDs.
