Before PlayStation 5 came out, Sony had to do the very important task of selling a dream to customers. One of the most talked about aspects of this new console was the blazing fast SSD that would transform the way we play games, AND the way they’re made. No load times, no long patch installs, and design freedom for game creators. This was the pitch from the System Architect Mark Cerny. Let’s take a look at the games today and see if we really are living this new dream. The SSD dream, if you will. Kind of reminds me of that spongebob bit where he doesn’t move, but allegedly ran to a rock and came back, looks at you and says “wanna see me do it again?”
