Greetings, Durag Nation. It’s been quite the whirlwind month for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, and today I bring more news your way. Unfortunately, some of this news might leave you feeling frustrated, but fear not—I’m here to guide you through it. So, give that like button a tap to help spread this video far and wide on YouTube. As I noted earlier, it’s shaping up to be an eventful month for Insomniac and Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. For those chomping at the bit to dive into the game as early as possible, I have some crucial information. The official pre-load date for the game is October 13th, and for those who opted for the disc version, you can take comfort in the fact that it will only include one disc, potentially indicating that it might not exceed 100 GB.
Considering Spider-Man Remastered PS5 clocked in at around 56 GB, there will likely be an additional update to download and potentially a day-one patch. Given that the map size is slated to be twice as large as in previous games, Spider-Man 2 could easily result in a total download exceeding 100 gigs.
If you were eyeing the Collector’s Edition, good news—there are still copies available. However, the most significant story is what’s happening later this month. Insomniac is hosting an hour-long showcase at San Diego Comic-Con on June 20th titled “Symbiotic Relationships,” which will delve into Venom and how the symbiote threat will shape the narrative.
The showcase is set to kick off at 5:30 PM Eastern time, and we’re anticipating a wealth of information given that the main voice actors, creative leads, and even Bill Rosemann are expected to be present. We’re also likely to get our first glimpse of Venom gameplay. Unfortunately, we won’t be able to witness any of it firsthand.
Enthusiasm was high when Marvel initially announced extensive live coverage of their Comic-Con panels, which included a mention of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. However, after posing a direct query to VP of Digital Ryan Penagos, he confirmed that the Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 panel would not actually be live-streamed.
This implies that unless someone covertly records the panel, we’ll essentially be reliant on Marvel and Insomniac to release new information online and on live tweets from the event—an oversight on Marvel’s part, in my opinion. However, given that we live in the digital age, any new information will surely find its way online, much like the footage from the Game Awards Concert.
