Microsoft hosted the Xbox 2023 Games Showcase and Starfield Direct and honestly it was a really solid showcase and definitely better than the PS5 and Summer Games Fest Showcases. Xbox Series X seems to have a solid lineup of Microsoft first party titles which is not the same vibe we got from the PlayStation 5 showcase from sony under a month ago. Starfield is shaping up to be a solid game from Bethesda although not the technical and graphical showcase that xbox fanboys were hyping it up to be after “Microsoft Deployed the Xbox Advanced Technology team to get the game running at 60fps”. Starfield appears to be running at 30fps in the new starfield gameplay demo that Todd Howard showed at the Starfield Direct. We also got an announcement that a black Xbox Series S with a 1tb ssd would be releasing at $350 which was a huge L in my opinion and begs the question at that point why not buy a $400 PS5 Digital that is more powerful. While key studio like Gears of War from the Coalition, Halo from 343, Indiana Jones or Wolfenstein from Machine games, Everwild from rare, or Perfect Dark from the initiative were missing and Fable did not receive a proper gameplay trailers or updates it was still pretty good overall. Inexile announced their new game Clockwork Revolution which looks amazing so that was a nice surprise and they also showed Avowed which literally is exactly what I hoped it would be, Obsidian’s take on The Elder Scrolls Skyrim. Overall the show was very solid but definitely had room for improvement. 7/10.
