Spider-Man 2023:
“Don’t”, Insomniac said when a fan expressed its concerns over a 2023 release. “We’re making good progress and it’s still slated for 2023. Showing games takes time, effort, resources, and coordination.”
Fans will surely be pleased that Spider-Man 2 is still planned to release somewhere next year.
Spider-Man 2 was officially announced back in September of last year alongside Marvel’s Wolverine (also by Insomniac). As confirmed by Insomniac, the CGI-quality teaser that Insomniac showed off was running in real-time on PlayStation 5. The sequel will feature both Peter Parker and Miles Morales facing the ever-popular Venom.
PT:
Prominent hacker Lance McDonald has revealed how to play PT on PS5 surprisingly without requiring the console to be jailbroken. This is despite Konami stating back in October 2020 that PT would not playable on PlayStation 5. The hack is quite involved, however, so it’s unlikely that most PS5 owners will be able to use this workaround. McDonald is known for confirming and showcasing how to jailbreak the console earlier in October, which has already allowed players to see a secret Demon’s Souls Remake item.

Much of the discourse on SSDs has recently been focused on the upcoming PCIe 5.0 spec, which has twice the bandwidth of PCIe 4.0 and will theoretically allow SSDs to hit even greater speeds, just as PCIe 4.0 did in 2019. But that doesn’t mean PCIe 4.0 SSDs are old hat now, as Samsung is launching its new 990 Pro SSD with older PCIe 4.0 technology. And it’s ready for Microsoft’s DirectStorage and PS5.
Although Samsung has PCIe 5.0 SSDs for enterprise, which feature much faster sequential speeds and input/output operations per second (IOPS) than any PCIe 4.0 SSD, the company is sticking with PCIe 4.0 for consumer-oriented devices for the time being. There’s more to an SSD than just the interconnect it has, however, such as NAND storage chips themselves, the software and firmware, and the SSD controller.
