“’Red Dead Redemption 2′ Is Finally Getting The Update Fans Have Begged For. According to a new report, Rockstar Games’ critically acclaimed Western is finally getting the update fans have been waiting for, in the form of a shiny new version of the game for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series consoles. Rockstar Games insider Tez2 recently claimed that the game is being polished up for new-gen consoles and will be released “at some point down the road.” They added that the enhanced version is likely to be released via an update for those who already own the game, and will not be a separate release akin to the recent GTA V new-gen launch.”

From nintendolife

“Rumour: Planned Remasters For GTA IV And Red Dead Redemption Have Apparently Been Scrapped. Rumours have been swirling for quite some time regarding a potential remaster for Red Dead Redemption. The game originally launched over twelve years ago on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 and followed the exploits of ex-outlaw John Marston as he hunts down his former gang members. The sequel, launched in 2018, showcased John’s gang during its glory years and ties closely into the events of the first game. As such, fans have been clamouring for a rerelease of Red Dead Redemption to bring it more in line with modern gameplay and visuals.”

“PlayStation Studio Refreshingly Honest About What It Isn’t Working On. Video game companies are notoriously cagey about sharing their plans. In a market saturated with sequels and spin-offs, developers nevertheless treat every new project with extreme secrecy. They’ll rarely even be up-front about what they aren’t working on, but today the PlayStation studio behind Ghost of Tsushima did just that. As it approaches its 25th anniversary, Sucker Punch took the unusual step of letting fans know what not to expect from its next game, killing rumors of a potential sequel to superhero sandbox series Infamous, or stealth platformer Sly Cooper, happening anytime soon.”

“Gaming Spend Will Continue to Decline in US as Living Costs Increase, Says NPD Report. The NPD group has reported serial declines in consumer spending in every month of 2022 so far — and it doesn’t see this trend changing anytime soon. Compared to 2021’s spending of $60.8 billion, 2022’s looking at a projected $55.5 billion, which would be a fairly significant dip. Of course, continued hardware stock issues are also a factor that can’t be ignored. Demand for the PS5 is still sky high, and Sony can’t produce enough consoles to keep up, even as we close in on the system’s second birthday.”

From Givemesport

“PS5: New Sony patent hints at retro accessories. A new Sony patent has suggested that the company may try to make old hardware compatible with the PS5 console, as per Video Game Chronicle. The report picks up from an article from Game Rant that has seen the patent, which appears to show that old Sony hardware could well be used via emulation on the PS5. That includes retro media remotes, DualShock controllers and a handheld console, which is likely to be the PSP Go.”
