“When Will PS5 Support 1440p? Here’s What We Know. The big update for PS5 which finally allowed PS5 owners to expand their internal storage has been and gone, and now we’re all itching to know when the console will support 1440p native. It’s been in demand for some time as the console itself (for now) can only output in 1080p or 4K resolution, with 8K support yet to be unlocked. 1440p for many is seen as a bit of a sweet spot when it comes to getting fast fps and solid resolution, especially if you pick the right screen size for gaming. When Will PS5 Support 1440p?
At this stage, the news is unfortunately thin on the ground, despite the demand, however, there are some nuggets of information out there that could give us some hope, at least.
After a recent update from Sony, the PS5 now supports VRR on HDMI 2.1 compatible TVs and Monitors however, there was no mention of any upcoming plans to enable 1440p. There have been reports referencing an interview last year with PlayStation platform boss Hideaki Nishino and PlayStation hardware boss Masayasu Ito for the Japanese publication AV Watch. In the interview, Masayasu Ito is reported to say that ‘there’s no technological problem at all’ in relation to having 1440p support, which could spell good news for the future.”

“Sony reportedly set to reveal new PlayStation 5 DualSense Pro controller this month, more. A PlayStation 5 pro controller might be in the works. What could be the PlayStation 5 DualSense Pro controller is apparently on the verge of being officially revealed, according to an industry insider with more than one source close to the matter. Sony never really attempted its own pro-grade, first-party gamepad for its previous-generation console the way Microsoft did with its Elite Series 2, but if these rumors ring true, we might very well be seeing a new PlayStation 5 pro controller before the month is out. Head below for more details on the alleged DualSense Pro, an upcoming showcase event, and details on the God of War Ragnarok release date. Sony just featured its latest State of Play at the beginning of the month with a host of PS VR2 titles, the Resident Evil 4 remake, and more. But with it being summer game announcement season and Microsoft just running a massive reveal showcase alongside Bethesda, it seems Sony has something else in the works for later this month that is rumored to carry details on the aforementioned PlayStation 5 DualSense Pro controller (or whatever it may or may not be called officially).”
