“GTA V’s New-Gen Version Is $10 Cheaper On PS5 Than Xbox Series X. Most games don’t get upgraded for a new console generation even once, let alone twice. After first coming out on Xbox 360 and PS3 back in 2013, Grand Theft Auto V will finally get an “enhanced and expanded” version on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S later this month, but with one pricey wrinkle: GTA V will be $20 cheaper on Sony’s new-gen console. As first reported by VGC, pre-orders are up in some territories for the new version of GTA V launching digitally on March 17. The full package, including both story mode and GTA Online, has a standard price of $40. For the next three months, however, the game will be 50% off on Xbox Series X/S and 75% off on PS5. That’s because GTA Online will be free on PS5, though players will still need PS Plus to play it.”

“PlayStation 4 owners now get three free months of Apple TV Plus. Sony is once again announcing a cross-promotion with Apple TV Plus to offer its console owners an extended free trial of the premium service. Owners of the last-gen PlayStation 4 console that are not already Apple TV Plus subscribers can redeem three months of service at no charge. After that, it’s back to the usual $4.99 per month. This promo is similar to the one announced last summer, where PlayStation 5 owners got six months of Apple TV Plus. Both promos are redeemable until July 22nd, 2022. While the PS5 got the double-length promo, extending this offer to PS4 owners widens the pool of people who qualify — especially with PS5 shipments still plagued by shortages and slowing to a trickle, again, after the holiday season. The PS4 install base is much larger than the PS5’s, and Sony even continues to ship PS4 consoles in 2022. The PS5 is selling well despite those shortages, just not as well as the PS4 did at this point in its lifecycle.”
