CoD 2023:
A new report claims Activision does not intend to release a mainline Call of Duty title in 2023, instead opting to drop a “free-to-play” game as a replacement.

Since 2005, Activision has released a brand-new Call of Duty game every year, swapping between developers to ensure their annual release schedule remains intact.

For the first time in almost 20 years, it seems that will not be the case. According to Bloomberg, there will be no mainline CoD title released next year, with Treyarch getting an additional 12 months to work on their next game.

The report states that Call of Duty 2023, which should be Treyarch’s next entry to the series, has been pushed back until 2024. Bloomberg suggests that Activision have made this decision in an effort to prevent future Call of Duty titles from conflicting with other releases in the series, which is what the company believes lead to Vanguard’s disappointing sales. It is not believed to be part of Microsoft’s acquisition of the company.

With no 2023 game, Activision instead plans to launch a free-to-play title instead, although we’re not sure what this could be. We do know it will be a separate launch from Warzone 2 though.

Call of Duty fans can still look forward to a game this year though, with Modern Warfare 2 still on track to release this fall.

March 2022’s free PlayStation Plus games have been teased early by a notoriously reliable leaker.

Dealabs user billbil-kun, who has been accurately leaking the PS Plus line-ups every month since September 2021, was curiously absent last month.

However, they have returned again this month with what they claim to be March’s PlayStation Plus games.

This includes the Legends mode from Ghost of Tsushima, which is currently available to owners of the main game, or bought standalone for $19.99.

PSNow:
People on the internet like to complain about things. This we know. That said, it’s fairly impressive that I genuinely don’t think I can pinpoint a time where people were ever generally happy with the state of PlayStation Now.
Clearly, Sony is aware of that too, and now it seems like they’re trying to make it a little more appealing for users. Xbox Game Pass has always had the edge when it comes to games subscription services, and undeniably one of the things it has going for it is the fact that it offers day one releases, as well as older games.
Ever wondered what would happen if you subjected a PlayStation to a mega-powerful water jet? This. This would happen.
Now, it’s been announced that PS Now will be offering a day one release next month. It’s going to be Shadow Warrior 3, an upcoming first-person shooter developed by Flying Wild Hog, and published by Devolver Digital. This might not be the release at the top of everyone’s 2022 games list, but it certainly looks good, and the fact that its a day one release automatically makes it a step up from the usual stuff that’s on offer.
