“Sony expects Microsoft to ‘continue to ensure’ Activision games stay multiplatform. Sony has responded to Microsoft’s blockbuster proposal to buy Activision Blizzard with a comment on what that might mean for the future games like Call of Duty on PlayStation consoles. “We expect that Microsoft will abide by contractual agreements and continue to ensure Activision games are multiplatform,” a spokesperson tells The Wall Street Journal. The big question is around Call of Duty. The franchise is hugely popular across both Xbox and PlayStation, but Sony has had a Call of Duty marketing deal in place with Activision for more than five years. “PlayStation is the new home of Call of Duty,” declared former PlayStation CEO Andrew House during Sony’s E3 2015 press briefing. Sony revealed in November that Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War was the second most played PS5 game for the whole of 2021, behind only Fortnite. Call of Duty also secured both of the top spots for US game sales for the whole of 2021, according to NPD, highlighting its impact on the market.”

Some may have forgotten they can soon take it on the go too, but a PlayStation executive reminded players through a picture of them playing God of War on the Steam Deck. In the few days since it launched, God of War on PC has been doing very well. Between record-breaking player counts for a PlayStation produced PC game to near universal critical acclaim for the porting of the 2018 original title, God of War on PC has a great deal going for it. While there is still great anticipation for Valve’s upcoming portable device, the Steam Deck, these final months have been a bit more difficult as the company tries to make it launch. An unfortunate delay a few months back has pushed the Steam Deck’s release to February, which as of right now, is still the plan for Valve.”

“Official update says Hogwarts Legacy still out this year, despite recent reports of a delay. A new update on the official Wizarding World website has re-confirmed a 2022 release date for Hogwarts Legacy, contradicting recent reports the open-world action-RPG had been delayed.
Word of a delay for Hogwarts Legacy first surfaced over the weekend, when Sacred Symbol podcast host Colin Moriarty revealed he’d been “hearing behind-the-scenes that [the] game isn’t coming out this year” and that “it’s in some sort of trouble”.
Publisher Warner Bros. didn’t immediately issue comment on the claims, leaving the status of Hogwarts Legacy uncertain, but a new update on the Wizarding World website – the official home of all things Harry Potter related – has effectively dismissed reports of a delay, reiterating “2022 is also the year when… Hogwarts Legacy, is set to be released”.”
