“Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection Out 28th January on PS5. Sony has today confirmed the Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection, which remasters Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End and Uncharted: The Lost Legacy for PlayStation 5, will launch on 28th January 2022. The bundle will cost £44.99/$49.99, and there is a PS4 to PS5 upgrade path available. If you own any one of Uncharted 4 or Lost Legacy on PS4, you can upgrade to the complete Legacy of Thieves Collection for £10/$10. You don’t need to own both titles in order to qualify — just one of them will do. However, the versions offered through PS Plus are not part of this offer. A PlayStation Blog post also notes that the multiplayer modes from Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End are not included in the PS5 collection. As for the graphical options available, there is a Fidelity Mode that runs at a native 4K resolution targeting 30 frames-per-second. A Performance Mode targets 60 frames-per-second, and a Performance+ Mode opts for 120 frames-per-second at a 1080p resolution.”

“PlayStation 5 Is The Most Searched-For Holiday Gift This Year. In a study performed by AT&T, the PlayStation 5 is the most searched for gift for Christmas this year in the United States of America. The company has been looking at online trends to see what people have been researching and looking for, and the console beats anything else on the market right now. And the Xbox Series X doesn’t even make it on the list.  The other top listed items were Airpods, Roku Players, Instant Pots, and Kindles. Sort of strange that Xboxes didn’t make it up there, but they’ve been easier to find in the last year than the PlayStation 5, and the new OLED model may have increased interest in buying Switches once more.”

“Scuf’s Reflex for PS5 is a pricier, customizable take on the DualSense. Scuf has introduced the Reflex lineup of customizable wireless controllers made for the PS5 and PC, consisting of three pricey controllers. Pricing starts at $199.99 for the Reflex, $229.99 for the Reflex Pro, going all the way up to $259.99 for the Reflex FPS, and each model has its own unique features. Across the range, the Reflex is built upon Sony’s first-party DualSense controller board. That means it’ll receive updates through your console and that its feature set is almost identical to what you’d get from Sony’s controller (Scuf’s Instinct Pro for Xbox was built this way, too, mirroring Microsoft’s first-party controller). The Scuf Reflex is rechargeable and supports USB-C charging, and it has a mute button and features a touchpad — all features it shares in common with the DualSense. The Scuf Reflex and Reflex Pro (but not the Reflex FPS) feature haptics and Sony’s signature adaptive rear triggers, which can adjust the amount of tension you feel contextually.”

“Sony Showcases Prototype 4K OLED Microdisplay for Virtual Reality. Sony has showcased a 4K OLED microdisplay, which could be used in a future virtual reality headset. The prototype hardware was debuted during the organisation’s internal Technology Day, and was introduced by Sony’s R&D Center – not, it must be stressed, Sony Interactive Entertainment. In the video, engineers Yasuka Ishihara and Kei Kimura explain that the coronavirus pandemic has changed the way we work, but VR can help us to overcome a number of obstacles.
It’s important to note that this is not, currently, a commercial product – and is not related to the organisation’s next-gen PSVR headset, which will reportedly run at a resolution of 4000×2040. However, the 4K microdisplays here are incredibly exciting.”
