“The Last of Us, Dreams, Resident Evil 7 and more Digital PS4 games are 50% off.

If you own a PlayStation, there’s a handful of “must have” games most fans will recommend to you. Most of those games have fantastic single-player experiences, which is where Sony’s game studios frequently outperform the multiplayer-heavy Xbox library. Because of their popularity, these games rarely go on sale in digital form, which is why seeing so many in the PlayStation Store at 50% or more off right now is such a big deal. Check out the titles we’ve found so far:
Dreams (save $10)
Shadow of the Colossus (save $10)
Resident Evil 7: Biohazard (save $10)
Resident Evil 2 (save $24)
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Complete Edition (save $40)
The Last of Us Remastered (save $10)
Wolfenstein 2: The New Colossus (save $27)
Doom Eternal: Deluxe Edition (save $60)
XCOM 2 Collection (save $80)
Kingdom Hearts All In One Collection (save $75)
The best part of this sale is that many of these titles have a visual update for the PlayStation 5, making everything that much nicer to play if you’ve already scored the new console. And if you don’t have a PS5 yet, you’ll know for sure these games will be a quality part of your library well into your next console’s life.”

“PlayStation & Netflix Gaming Partnership Rumored After App Data Leak. Rumors of a gaming partnership between Netflix and PlayStation are spreading online after PlayStation-related images were found within the app’s data was mined. On Wednesday, a report revealed that Netflix has plans to enter the gaming industry and has hired a former Electronic Arts executive as Vice President of Game Development. Before going any further, it is important to keep in mind that this information comes from a leak, and has not been confirmed by neither Netflix nor PlayStation. PlayStation has historically not been the most approachable by some major companies, but Sony Interactive Entertainment CEO Jim Ryan says it is trying to do better. In June, Jim Ryan was interviewed and stated that PlayStation crossplay support will be more common soon, and it appears as though the console manufacturer may also have other plans on how to expand its presence beyond PlayStation consoles and crossplay. Noted software dataminer Steve Moser tweeted out a thread containing several interesting images found within Netflix’s code. First, he revealed a potential logo and name for Netflix’s gaming venture (reading “N Game”), as well as an icon of a shark, referring to the project’s “Shark” code name. But, more interestingly, Moser also found an image of Ghost of Tsushima’s cover art and an abstract render of what are clearly two PS5 DualSense controllers. Moser did not find any concrete confirmations that a PlayStation and Netflix partnership outside of the images, and it’s not clear what could be potential placeholder data among them. Outside of video games, Sony and Netflix have already done business in 2021. Back in April, the two came to terms for Netflix to exclusively house Sony movies after their theatrical runs, so the two giants are quite familiar with one another. Given the nature of the movie deal, it is safe to say that the two are at least on amicable terms. With that in mind, perhaps Netflix and PlayStation coming together for a gaming partnership is not totally out of the realm of possibility.”

“PS5 Gets A Very Small Console Redesign, But Don’t Get Too Excited. After several months on the market, the PlayStation 5 is finally about to get a little bit slimmer. A new model revision of the PS5 Digital Edition has been confirmed in a new safety guide user manual on the official Japanese PlayStation website–as reported by PlayStation Universe–which sees the console shave 300 grams / 10 ounces off of its total weight for a more next-gen mass of 3.6 kg / 8 lbs. It’s not clear yet which parts have been changed internally for the PS5 Digital Edition ahead of another reported revision in 2022 to address the current global semiconductor shortage, as all the other specification numbers are still the same as the original console. These models have a release date of July 20, 2021, although PSU noted that retailers in Japan have not take stock of them just yet.
